2016 Event Planning Meeting

Watching paint dry is considerably more exciting than the Planning Committee's annual planning session. This December, we met for breakfast at Wegman's Grocery Store in Gainesville, Virginia. The Food Court provided hot coffee and buffet breakfast, but that didn't prevent the proceedings from being deadly dull.

We populated the calendar with a Chapter event for every month in the coming year. A new event will be Bikes and Breakfast in historic Clifton, Virginia on May 1. Bikes and Breakfast is held the first Sunday of every month, and we decided to make it an official Highlands event.

We reluctantly said goodbye to Blast From The Past and the post-blast Pool Party, one of our most popular events. The new ownership of Patriot Harley in Fairfax is not supporting this event in the manner to which we have become accustomed. Rommel Harley in Annapolis, Maryland asked us to shift our antique motorcycle display to their annual open house, but the distance presents logistical problems, as well as no venue for the pool party afterwards.

This year's attendees were Craig Williams, Tom Hardy, Juan Sakata, George Ogden, Mike Mueller, Bill Lackman, Bob Nicholas, Tim O'Hara, and Dave Hennessey.

See what fun events we've planned on the 2016 Event Calendar.
