Subject:Rattle the Runway - Motorcycle Event - Sunday 9-11-11 Date:Thu Sep 8 22:09:12 2011
Gents,

Mike Mueller asked me to let you know about a motorcycle event that is coming up this Sunday (September 11, 2011). It's called the "Rattle the Runway Ride" and it honors the memory of the lives lost on 9-11. Mike told me that they typically have 1000 to 1500 riders attend the event. The annual event started in 2003 with 400 riders. Since then, the group ride has grown to nearly 1500 bikes.

Here is the website: http://www.rattletherunwayride.com/

Here is the basic information I copied from from the website:

2011 EVENT INFO

This year's event will take place rain or shine on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Again this year, we will stage in an outdoor area behind the National Air and Space Museum - Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center for our opening ceremonies.

After a ride from Dulles Airport to the Pentagon, we will visit the Pentagon Memorial.

Motorcycle staging at the Opening Ceremonies location in the rear of the National Air and Space Museum - Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center will take place from 8:00am to 10:00am. The actual Opening Ceremonies will start promptly at 9:00am.

DIRECTIONS

From VA State Route 28, exit at the Air and Space Museum Parkway to a right turn at GATE 317 (will close promptly at 10:00am). Once on Dulles Airport grounds, follow Police directions to the staging area.

This is an event open to all motorcyclists, and all makes and models of motorcycles are welcome. You do NOT need to register and there's NO registration fee; just show up!

The website has additional details and maps. Hope some of you can attend the event.

Regards.
