Highland Brothers,

I've put together the road run for this month. Dana and I checked out the route this weekend and I think it will be an enjoyable ride.

The Ride: Saturday June 20, 2009

Rain Date: Sunday June 21, 2009 (Sunday is Father's day, so I'm hoping it won't rain on Saturday).

Meeting Place: 10AM - June 20th @ the Shell Station in Paeonian Springs, VA (It's just outside of Leesburg on Charles Town Pike. We'll try to get gassed up and on the road by 10:30 AM or there-abouts.

Shell Gas Station
40636 Charles Town Pike
Paeonian Springs, VA 20129.

The Run:
1) Paeonian Springs(VA)
2) Taylorstown (VA)
3) Lovettsville (VA)
4) Brunswick (MD)
5) Millville (WV)
6) Harpers Ferry (WV)
7) Charles Town (WV)
8) Hillsboro (VA)
9) Paeonian Springs (VA)

The lunch/entertainment stop will be at the Charles Town at the Race Track and Slots. We can stop along the way if anybody sees something they'd like to check out.

Most of the run is back roads. All are paved. A few have small potholes, but they aren't bad. There is a little bit of highway we'll have to run. (Route 340 out of Brunswick until we get past Harpers Ferry. It's probably less than 10 miles of highway. Route 180 has been closed for repairs so we have to take Route 340). We'll get off of 340 at the Flea Market. After that we'll be back on secondary roads again.

The run is about 60 miles and takes 1-1/2 hours of seat-time without stops.

Dana and I checked out the new The Inn at Charles Town racetrack. It's very nice if you'd like to plan to stay the night. You can ask for rooms with a view of the racetrack. Here is a link to their website: (You'll have to copy and paste it to your browser).

I'll probably take the Road King instead of the WLA. Dana might come along for the ride, assuming I don't tick her off between now and then. This is a co-ed ride. Be sure to bring the ladies.

Call me or e-mail me if you have any questions or suggestions regarding the ride. Hope to see you all on the 20th.

Regards,

Bob Nicholas
