I want to let you guys know that all is well with my Panhead. It appears I dodged a bullet this time! It only took two quarts of oil to fill my oil tank, so it appears that the cover to my oil filter must have fallen off less than a mile before l noticed the oil light being on. Thanks to Billy for letting me borrow his cover, and thanks to Dave for running me up to get the oil. And to Sue for capturing the memory in a photo! It was good to see everyone. Take care, and I hope to see you all at Shane and Val's. Uwe ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- The Freeze Your Butt Off Ride is this Saturday, and as usual, we will meet at Billy's Big Top at 10 am. The Big Top (formerly "Motorcycle Mecca") is located at 8600 MacArthur Blvd, Bethesda. Due to low temperatures, and the possibility of rain, we're going to a nearby restaurant/sports bar called Quincy's, located at 1093 Seven Locks Road, Potomac. Quincy's opened recently, and is located in a kind of secret shopping center - ya gotta know where it is if you wanna know where it is. This is 3 miles from where I used to live in Rockville - late 1970s to mid-1980s, and we used to frequent the pizza place and beer store located there. ---- Head count needed - who's coming? ---- Most of the good places to eat around Billy's have become "gentrified" - either expensive, ethnic, and usually both. We had planned a Pizza Place in Palisades, but it now serves Afghani cuisine. Yuck. We need to plan a warm weather ride to Bassets in Poolesville - we went there before. There are tons of nice country roads out there for us to explore. See ya Saturday! |
