Aurie W. Schwarting and I are interested in meeting everyone and settling dues, etc. as needed to join the club. Are new members able to join this event? If so, can I bring a side dish or dessert or snacks or anything really? Are there any rules on rides, i.e. do we need to ride an antique to events or can we ride something more modern? There are concerns about the Triumph going to far from home. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Mother Nature hates us! The forecast for this Saturday is 70% chance of rain. It sure looks like the Two Mile Ride will be cancelled. But let's EAT AND DRINK anyway! The TWO MILE PARTY will start at 12 noon at Dave's house - 7890 Knights Court, Warrenton, 540-347-3570 Please RSVP - on the Exchange, via email, or via telephone - so we know how many nice HOT cheeseburgers to prepare. Otherwise, you will get a COLD sandwich. Although it looks like we won't be visiting the power plants, below is a Letter To The Editor which appeared in today's Fauquier Times. ----- Original message follows ----- Commestibles available for consumption will include a good HOT sandwich (a cooked-to-order cheeseburger) with side dishes. Also available will be a good COLD sandwich (an ice cube between two slices of bread). Participants should RSVP with their choice of sandwich temperature. Potables will include British Invasion, a British Golden Ale, and Goat's Head Soup, an American IPA. Less heady beverages will also be provided. No super-secret government facilities will be visited this year. Instead, we will prepare for Harley-Davidson's new LiveWire electric motorcycle by visiting electric power generation facilities. Eight combustion turbines and a solar facility in Remington produce about 1.1 gigaWatt of electricity, enough to charge up several hundred thousand LiveWires. |
