Shane,

Cadmium plating has superior corrosion resistance, which is why, despite its toxicity, and the attendant environmental costs, it is still widely used in the aircraft and gov't industries.

Hardware store "bright plated" bolts are zinc-plated and don't stand up well in outdoor environments. "Galvanized" bolts are usually zinc also, but much thicker plating and less shiny.

Real cad rocks! Sign me up for helping with setup and testing.

Real cad or copy cad?

I just bought a 5 gallon cadmium plating
kit.
Currently reading the manual and preparing
for set up.
A bit of a process, anyone interested in
getting involved?
