Hodge said it would be OK to post the following letter of thanks I sent to Mr. Joe Looney. (It was sent on behalf of myself and the Highlands Chapter). I hope everybody in the Chapter gets a chance to visit with Mr. Looney and his wife. They're wonderful folks and their collection of farm equipment just great.

Dear Mr. Looney,
I wanted to thank you for letting the Highlands Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America visit with you on Saturday, September 26, 2009.
Your collection of tractors and farm equipment is fantastic. I wanted you to know that visiting with you and Mrs. Looney was the highlight of my entire weekend. Even being soaking wet from our ride up from Natural Bridge, I couldnít have been happier. You were very gracious to spend a little extra time with me going through your collection. I would have liked to spend a little more time with you and Mrs. Looney, but we had to get back to prepare the barbeque for the rest of the club members.
Like you, I have a love for old machinery. My collection is very small though, consisting of a 1950 Ford 8N tractor, a 1943 WWII Ford Jeep and the 1943 WWII WLA Harley-Davidson I rode up to your place. A lot of my favorite tools including my wood lathe and metal lathe are from the 1950s and 1960s. Older is better. I canít think of anything made today that has the character and feel of these old machines.
I hope one day that you will allow us to visit with you again. That would be great. Spending time with you and your machines was the most fun Iíve had in a long, long time.
Best wishes for a happy and successful year.
Bob Nicholas, Secretary Ė Highlands Chapter, AMCA
