The traditional FYBO run is this Saturday, November 28 Since the weather is cooperating with us, we'll take a 33-minute ride through some scenic areas of Maryland and Washington, DC on our way to lunch at Trav's (aka The Irish Inn at Glen Echo). Map: https://goo.gl/maps/F1UEDjPR1wN2 Highlights: Dalcarlia Parkway - yes, you can hit 110 mph on this road. I did it in 1975. That's the mark to beat! Chain Bridge Road, NW - windy, twisty, little-known road. Safe speed is about 25 mph. Potomac Avenue NW - Potomac Palisades - great view of the Potomac River and the Virginia shoreline. Overlooks the old B&O Railroad's Georgetown Branch bridge over Canal Road, NW. Glen Echo Park - Trav's adjoins the former amusement park, now a National Park. Walking trip. MacArthur Blvd (aka Conduit Road) a twisty, turny, one of the best motorcycle roads in the area. |
